Live From St. Croix – It's Valentine's Day Webcams allow the world to see Hugs, Kisses and Wedding Ceremony on St Croix
St. Croix, US Virgin Islands – February 7, 2005 – This Valentine's Day the world can watch as people on the tropical island of St Croix send kisses to their loved ones, win prizes and renew their wedding vows on the beach. The website www.GoToStCroix.com features two webcams, one facing the boardwalk in Christiansted Harbor and the other facing the white sand beach of Frederiksted. From 12 noon until 3 pm, GoToStCroix.com's Hershey Kiss will be at the Harbor Cam, with prize drawings at 2:30 pm. The vow-renewal ceremony will start at 5:30 pm in front of the Beach Cam.
“The webcams are a popular way for people visiting or living on St Croix to stay in touch with friends and family overseas,” said Wendy Solomon, owner of Media Mate, a website design company that owns and operates the GoToStCroix.com website. “We are making Valentine's Day extra special by encouraging people to call the ones they love, have some fun, and renew their vows.” At the Harbor Cam, from 12 noon until 3 pm on Monday, February 14, triathlete Mike Klein, who will be in costume as a big Hershey Kiss, will be giving away free hugs, candy and entering people to win one of many prizes. People joining the fun at the Harbor Cam are invited to call a friend and encourage them to log onto GoToStCroix.com and see them in paradise. GoToStCroix.com has created special Valentine's Day messages including “I Love You.” Anyone wanting to win a prize, must enter on the boardwalk between 12 noon and 2:30. Prize drawings will be held at 2:30 pm. Prizes include lunch for two at Rumrunners Bar & Restaurant located on the Christiansted boardwalk, one of five bottles of Cruzan Single Barrel Rum, the award winning rum of St. Croix, a romantic sunset sail with Big Beard's charters and more.
The vow renewal ceremony, a more intimate affair, will start at 5:30 pm on Monday, February 14 in front of the Beach Cam. Captain John Macy (a.k.a Big Beard) will officiate the ceremony. More than ten couples have confirmed their participation in this romantic seaside ceremony. Beachside Café (340.772.1205), which faces the same beach as the webcam, is offering a special Valentine's Day dinner. Reservations required.
