Brewing Success.
Tripping Animals Brewing began in 2011 as a garage homebrewing project in Caracas, Venezuela, where four friends—Daniel Chocron, Ignacio Montenegro, Iker Elorriaga, and Juan Manuel Torres—experimented fearlessly and grew their passion for craft beer. After years of dedicated practice and global brewery visits, the team moved to Miami, founding Tripping Animals in Doral in 2018 with a mission to brew boldly, foster community, and bring creative energy to every pour. Tripping Animals Brewing expanded in February 2025 by opening a second taproom in Oakland Park, Florida. Continuing to thrive as a proudly independent, family-owned brewery, Tripping Animals Brewing is acclaimed for its inventive beers, vibrant animal-inspired label art, and an unwavering dedication to craft, quality, and fostering genuine connections in the craft beer community.

Books & Books to Celebrate Arroz con Mango on September 5
Miami, FL – Sept 5, 2025 - Tripping Animals Brewing is proud to support “Arroz con Mango”, a unique Gallery Night Opening on Friday, September 5, from 7–10pm at the Books & Books Gallery in Coral Gables. Breaking new ground, this special exhibition features the original artwork of acclaimed authors Cristina García, Ana Menéndez, and Virgil Suárez—three literary masters who have ventured into the visual arts as a hobby and are now showing their work together for the very first time.
Curated by Elvia Rosa Castro, “Arroz con Mango” is part of the bookstore’s popular Gallery Night series, with a new exhibition launching the first Friday of every month. This month’s show stands out for its crossover of literature and art, as these celebrated authors share their practice, process, and creative curiosity beyond the written word.
The evening is free and open to the public. At 7pm, García, Menéndez, and Suárez will present a lively talk about their artistic journeys and the meaning behind exhibiting their visual art as a collective. Guests are invited to explore the exhibition, meet the authors, and experience firsthand the interplay between language and image that defines their work.
Elevating the celebration, guests will be treated to complimentary tastings of Tripping Animals Brewing’s signature Limonada Rosada—a vibrant, pink lemonade-inspired beer adorned with an eye-catching flamingo label. Known for their strikingly artistic animal-themed labels, Tripping Animals Brewing brings creativity from can to glass. Joining the festivities in person, co-founder Juan Manuel Torres will be on hand to toast the community and share in this special evening.
In a spirit of generosity, all proceeds from the sale of the authors’ artwork during the run of the show will be donated to the Books & Books Literary Foundation, supporting literary and cultural programming that uplifts voices and fosters community connection.
Books & Books Literary Foundation
The Books & Books Literary Foundation supports literary engagement across South Florida by funding author events, literacy outreach, and free public programming. Contributions from Arroz con Mango will help the Foundation continue to bring world-class writers to local audiences, nurture diverse voices, and sustain a thriving literary community.

Tripping Animals Brewing Goes Bananas for 30th Anniversary of Center for Great Apes
BREWING A CREATIVE COLLABORATION
Tripping Animals Brewing crafted three custom beers to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Center for Great Apes. The labels showcase artwork by the sanctuary's residents, including Bubbles, once kept as a pet by Michael Jackson, Jacob from commercials and movies like "Planet of the Apes," and Keagan, a former entertainment industry orangutan. These beers, launched monthly starting with Jacob Sour Ale in October, Keagan Lager in November, and Bubbles IPA in December 2023.
The Center for Great Apes, a sanctuary for orangutans and chimpanzees in need, celebrates a significant milestone as it observes its 30th anniversary. To mark the occasion, the Center for Great Apes hosted a series of educational programs, fundraising activities and art exhibits featuring portraits of and paintings by several of the great apes living at the sanctuary throughout October to December at Miami- based businesses including Books & Books, Tripping Animals Brewing Co., the Wirtz Gallery at the First National Bank of South Miami and Ghee Indian Kitchen. Tripping Animals Brewing attended each event and offered tastings of the three custom beers.
